Terms of use
Last updated: 17 October 2026
These terms cover your use of the tagg.ie app, website and labels. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. If you only scan a label, section “If you find something” is the part that applies to you. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data.
Who we are
tagg.ie is run by Brian Gallagher, a sole trader, at 7 Bayview, Pembroke Street, Dublin 4, D04 C9X0, Ireland. Write to us at hello [at] tagg [dot] ie.
What tagg.ie does
You put a QR label on something. If someone finds it and scans the label, they can contact you in the ways you chose, and we tell you about the find. tagg.ie is free to use for now. If we ever introduce charges we will tell you first, and you will not be charged for anything you did not agree to.
Buying printed taggs
While we run this pilot you can order printed sticker sheets of taggs from our website. The price shown includes postage to Ireland and the other EU countries. We email you a payment link, your order is confirmed and printed once we receive the payment, and an order nobody pays for within 14 days is cancelled. The labels are professionally printed and posted for us by our print partner, Prodigi. If your taggs arrive damaged, misprinted or do not scan, write to hello [at] tagg [dot] ie and we will reprint or refund them. Your rights under consumer law, including any right to cancel that applies, are not affected.
Your account
- You must be 16 or over.
- Give accurate details and keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- You choose what finders can see of your details. Tell us at hello [at] tagg [dot] ie if you think someone has misused your account.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app (Account, then Delete account). Your labels are then retired and can never be used again.
What we do not promise
tagg.ie helps people get in touch. We cannot promise that anyone will find your item, that a finder will be honest, or that you will get it back. Alerts, emails and notifications can be delayed or fail, and the service can be unavailable. Use it as one tool among others, not as the only protection for something valuable or important.
If you offer a reward, that is an arrangement between you and the finder. We are not a party to it and we do not hold, pay or guarantee rewards. We do not hold or collect items. When you meet someone to collect an item, take sensible precautions, such as meeting in a public place.
Using information about finders
When someone finds your item you may receive their details, such as their IP address, rough location, or message. Use it only to recover your item. Do not publish it, pass it on, or use it to harass, track or pressure anyone.
If you find something
The contact details on a label belong to its owner. Use them only to return the item. Do not copy, collect or misuse them, and do not scan labels to gather people’s details.
Acceptable use
Do not use tagg.ie to break the law, harass or deceive anyone, send spam, interfere with the service, try to get around its limits or security, or gather data from it by automated means. Do not register a label for something that is not yours.
Suspending accounts
We may suspend an account or retire labels that break these terms or are used to cause harm. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why. We may change or stop the service; if we shut it down we will give you notice.
Our responsibility
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your rights as a consumer. Beyond that, we are not liable for the loss or damage of any item, for a find that is missed or a message that is not delivered, or for indirect losses. Our total liability to you for anything connected with tagg.ie is limited to 100 euro.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app before it applies. Using tagg.ie after a change means you accept it.
Law
These terms are governed by Irish law and the courts of Ireland. If you are a consumer in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws where you live.
